SQL Server Database Administrator

Required Skills:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2005/2000/7.0
  • Design, install and configure SQL Server server in SAN and server based environment.
  • Design database schema and DDLs.
  • Upgrade to SQL Server 2005/2008 from earlier versions of SQL Server or other data sources.
  • Backup/Recovery, replication, database mirroring, clustering & log shipping.
  • SSIS, DTS & ETL process.
  • Capacity planning and disaster recovery planning.
  • Performance tuning and troubleshooting database and application problems.
  • Database Maintenance plan - integrity checks, indexes, optimization.
  • Install and configure SQL Reporting Services.
  • Security / Permission management.
  • Windows 2008/2003/2000 Server and IIS.
  • SQL Server service packs and patches.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 3+ years of SQL Server DBA experience.
  • Experience in migrating from other RDBMS Systems to SQL Server 2005/2008.
  • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator or Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist.
